Or should you wish to dine out we highly recommend that you make a reservation.

Here are some favoured Dining out options in Halls Gap and beyond:

The Kookaburra: owned and operated by the same couple for over 30 years. A local staple (Booking advisable)

Spirit of Punjab: excellent India food including a large range of vegetarian options. Also does take out food.

Halls Gap Hotel: an excellent Pub Bistro. The deck at the rear has great views down the range. (Booking advisable)

Paper Rock Scissors Brew Co: local brews and good tucker

The Royal Mail Hotel at Dunkeld is a much awarded degustation restaurant also with an “edgy” bistro called Parker Street Project.  (booking essential)

NOTE: The drive between Dunkeld and Halls Gap is beautiful however as it is through the middle of the National Park it is quite challenging after dark due to the wildlife. Driving time: Daytime 45 mins: After dark 75-90 mins so a lunch option may be best
